Description

While there has always been a need to show the value of our investments, the current economic climate has created an even greater demand for talent development professionals to prove the value of their programs, projects, and initiatives. Executives, funders, and sponsors can be heard saying, "Show Me the Money" before considering a new program, leaving program owners faced with the challenge of credibly and rationally forecasting the ROI to secure project approval.

This session will explain how to forecast ROI using credible sources and a set of conservative standards. The ROI Methodology previewed in this session is used to forecast up to six types of data, including the financial ROI. When forecasting, the objective is to be realistic—but conservative and use the data to secure project approval.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
  1. Explain the rationale for using ROI on a pre-project basis
  2. Describe the six types of data that can be forecasted
  3. Conduct a pre-project forecast of data
  4. Conduct an ROI forecast from reaction data
  5. Present the forecast in a convincing way to senior executives
  6. Use forecasting as a routine process to secure project approval and build relationships with clients

Participants will receive a chapter from the book, The Consultant's Guide to Results-Driven Business Proposals: How to Write Proposals that Forecast Impact and ROI (Jack and Patti Phillips, McGraw-Hill), a copy of the presentation, and job aids.
